AL:EW was founded by Amy Lou, a pioneer of modern East:West marketing. She has a proven track record of taking Chinese and Asian brands from relative unknowns in the West to sit on Interbrand’s 100 Best Global Brands list.
Amy Lou’s career advanced alongside China’s new era of economic expansion, in particular the rapid acceleration of the Chinese technology sector. Amy Lou was Head of Brand Communications at HTC Europe, and later Global Brand Director at Consumer Business Group of Huawei Technologies. She obtained first-hand experiences in designing strategies and plans that captured cultural insights and ushered Chinese brands onto the international stage. Amy also worked at Motorola (China) and was instrumental in building the Motorola brand in the Chinese market at its pinnacle before coming to the UK to study for an MBA in 2002.
Amy’s passion for collaboration propelled her into the world of art, fashion, design and media, and orchestrated a series of cultural collaborations at Huawei to drive the brand forward. She gained unrivalled knowledge and experience working seamlessly between Chinese and Western markets. Amy also worked with a host of eminent creative agencies in Asia, Europe and America, gaining first-hand insights for effective Agency : Client engagement across eastern and western culture.
